Sustainability Committee Meeting

The Miami Beach Resident Sustainability Committee will hold a virtual public meeting on Thursday, March 26, at 3 p.m. The committee provides recommendations on community-wide sustainability. The committee encourages environmental awareness among residents, employees, and business partners to help accomplish the goal of keeping Miami Beach environmentally and sustainably conscious.

Native Plant Walk & Compost Pick-up

Join Love The Everglades Movement at the Miami Beach Compost Hub on 84th and Collins for a community gathering that connects people, soil, and the Everglades watershed. The event features a guided Nature Walk exploring local ecology, composting, and the role native plants play in restoring our environment. As always, stop by to pick up a bag of compost to take home.

Come ready to make a visible difference on our shorelines, then learn simple mending and creative upcycling techniques to extend the life of what you already own.

Arbor Day Tree Planting Proclamation, Ceremony, and Tree Giveaway

The City will celebrate Arbor Day with a proclamation and tree planting at the North Beach Compost Hub. This ceremony will promote the importance of the urban forest and requalify the City to receive the Tree City USA designation. Miami Beach has held this designation for 22 years, a testament to our community’s vital work to protect our tree canopy.  The City’s Urban Forestry team will also host a tree giveaway for residents to help expand and diversify our canopy. Trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
