
Simon Bolivar y las Americas Day

Simon Bolivar, also known as El Libertador (translated in English as “The Liberator”), played a central role in the South American independence movement against Spanish rule. His efforts set forth the creation of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, and Peru. Festivities will be followed by an invocation and wreath-laying ceremony from the Office of the Mayor and Commission. This year’s ceremony will honor the country of Panama. Complimentary cafecito will be served.
