SUMMARY:Collage as Symbol
DESCRIPTION:Join Artist Carol Jazzar for this workshop at Oolite Arts on Lincoln Road! \nCollage is a technique of creation that results from an assemblage of different images to create a new image. In this workshop\, participants will be invited to follow a method that will lead them to create their own unique work. \nTherefore\, it will be a journey of self-discovery through each’s own creative process. \nWe will be focusing on the original technique of papier collé\, using only paper to make your own masterpiece. At the end of the session\, there will be a review to learn about each other’s final work; constructive critique may be shared. \nAll materials are included. No previous experience is necessary. \nClasses must meet a minimum enrollment number to run; please don’t wait until the last minute to register! \n \n

SUMMARY:Stitched Memories: A Mother’s Day Bookmaking Workshop at Oolite Arts
DESCRIPTION:Join artists Diana Larrea and Kiki Chrinos for a special one-day workshop that invites mothers and their daughters or sons to reconnect through a shared creative process. Using personal photographs from family archives\, participants will explore simple embroidery techniques to transform their images and reflect on the memories they hold. \nTogether\, each pair will create a small handmade book using a Japanese stab-binding technique\, turning their photographs into a tactile narrative. Designed as a meaningful way to celebrate Mother’s Day\, the workshop offers a space to slow down\, share stories\, and create something lasting together.
