Plastisphere: Kreativ-Workshop

Join artists Mark Herrera (New World School of the Arts) @markherreraartist, Dr. Antonina Konopelska(Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw) @antoninakonopelska and Kerry Phillips (The Things Lab, FIU) @tontalovesme for a community workshop where participants stitch together a patchwork tapestry from squares of upcycled plastic and yarn.

As we sew, participants are invited to share and record their voices, stories, and images, expanding the work beyond its material form into a living archive of presence and encounter.

By combining humble, industrial remnants with human narratives, the project reflects on how fragments, whether physical or personal, can be interwoven into larger structures of meaning.

The finished tapestry will become both sculpture and collective memory, a reminder that art can transform discarded materials into spaces of dialogue, resilience, and belonging.
